I need some advice!

This is what I am dreaming about doing to my copier. I bought a Kodak all in one ink jet printer a year or so ago and it's been nothing but problems. I have had to replace the print head three times now and it needs a new one again! Kodak has been nice enough to replace it for free each time but I'm getting sick and tired of dealing with it...and so are they apparently. Kodak said that they will get me a new printer head or a 40% off coupon toward a new Kodak printer....(I think they are hoping I go with the coupon!) So I am weighing the options..get a new print head for a quick fix or cough up some money for a new printer. hmmmmm. I was also thinking about getting a laser printer instead but I don't know how much the toner costs and how the quality is.Plus Kodak doesn't have a laser printer I can afford! Can anyone give me some ideas and let me know what you use? Thanks Blogger friends!!!

I had a laser printer years ago but the cost of the toner was too expensive, $80.00, and that was five years ago, and I also had a Lexmark ink jet printer. Only reason I had a laser is b/c at the time I had to print out my transcripts in triplicate so I needed something fast.

When the laser printer died I bought a Dell all-in-one ink jet printer which I've had for 3 years and it's stil going strong.

The cartridges are $22.00 for the black and $27.00 for the color which I recycle at Staples and get $2.00 for each one I recycle. As I no longer have to print out my transcripts this works perfectly for me now.

Wendy so glad you stopped by my blog:) As to your printer probelm I have a brother ink jet printer. The cartridges are about $70.00 a piece and you have to have 4 of them one for each color family. We have our own buisness and have to use it for that. THe advantages are NO CLOGGING EVER! The cartridges last through between 1500 and 2000 copies so once you are set up they will last forever. We only have to replace our cartridges about once a year and we have to do a ton of printing so a normal person may only replace them every 3 or 4 years or maybe longer. It is expensive to get started with though . I also used to have a brother all in one printer and it was fabulous but I didn't need it anymore when we moved the buisness home. Hope that helps:)

Hi Wendy,
I use the same Dell printer as Marsha does. And it has been great. I print on fabric so I go through a lot of ink! :) Becky's printer sounds great too but like I said-I use my printer for my crafts so I would be buying ink quite often and couldn't afford that.
Good luck with whatever you decide to use.

Hi Wendy, I have a Canon HP Copier, printer and scanner and I love it. I used to have a Lexmark and it was ok but I like the canon print quality much better.
I guess you really need to know what your needs are and how much you use the printer. I am sure you can get some deals out there if you shop around. For both cartridges I pay around 50.oo Canadian and don't pay tax because I buy them on the local reserve.
Hope you find a good option for yourself.
PS loving your jewellery.

Wendy dear I am having the same problem. I have an HP piece of garbage! It doesn't want to print good anymore! I only use it because it still scans and that's pretty much what I do now. I have changed the ink countless times and nothing, the thing is I buy a new printer every 1 or 2 years! At my moms I left an old old printer that still works fine!!!! But I needed to upgrade right. I'm sorry I have no advice, just complaining!

Wendy I'd like to know if you got the paper dolls I emailed you!

Hi there! Thank for stopping by my Steampunk blog and I hope you can find a copy of that book I reviewed. As to printers, my MIL had a Kodak and I don't think she was too thrilled with it, either. I would suggest that you look at the cost of inks from Ebay. I get colour and black cartridges for my HP printer and it costs $15 with free shipping.

Oh, and I love the picture. Pretty much the funniest part of a screamingly funny film.

You have a very nice blog, first time here via Cindy's linky party. As for the printer, I have always bought HP printers (all in one) and they work great. I got a really good one for under $200 last year and they have XL ink cartridges for them. Not too expensive either if you buy them online on sites like I am not paid to say that, I have just built a computer from scratch with all parts from newegg, so I thought of telling you. I am a techie and I love my HP printer. Prints great, no issues and the customer service has also been great (I used them only for fax setup to work with my VOIP etc). Hope this helps.
