I love it when you go to the post office and find a package and not just bills! Amy from Ruby Moon Art had a giveaway and I won! I got it in the mail today on my way to work so it sat in my car all day....after work my car smelled like heaven! I tried it as soon as I got home and my hands are so soft right now! What a great remedy for winter hands!
Doesn't it look good enough to eat? I am going to make this project for sure ! Amy has the recipe on her blog: rubymoonart . stop by her site and check out the scrub! Thanks Amy!

This is a project I have been working on for awhile now! I got the idea from a blog I love Altered Alchemy . She makes beautiful necklaces and books that are so incredible I really wanted to try to make some myself! So this is my version and it's not nearly as ornate but I think they turned out really well for my first try! They are going to be Christmas presents for my sister ,daughter, niece, and a couple of ladies I work with. (I think it's safe to post this now) Well here is a breakdown of how I made these little books:
First I took an old scrapbook and tore the pages into 1.25" x 3.25" strips, folded a stack of four strips in half and sewed the spine with thread, and grouped four of these together. I used a clothespin to keep them in groups
Then I took a piece of card stock and cut it 1.25" x 4.00" and made a fan fold in the middle.
I used glue to attach each of the paper sections into the fan fold.
I measured out some scrap leather I found at Hobby Lobby for covers. they need to be just a little bit bigger than the book pages.
I used my crop-a-dile to make holes and put grommets in the leather. Then I glued the covers onto the paper stacks. Be careful with the glue! I almost glued one book shut from too much glue oozing out onto the pages!
I searched through my jewelry stash to find things that might work on the cover. some were too big and may have to wait for a bigger book!
This is the back of one of the ones for the ladies at work, you can just see the little tooth brush peeking down in the pic...yes I work at a dentist office! I just couldn't resist when I saw these little silver tooth brushes on Ebay!

Love the Santa hat on Scrooge!
Not only did I get the Christmas Carol ATC but I got a second ATC!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE IT! the hat pin was so creative and I love vintage and sparkle!
And then I also got this altered notebook! How lucky am I?! :)
and last but not least I got a Christmas tag and a cool scrooge card on top of everything else! Totally made my day!
This is the ATC I sent to Tee
I made it so the window opens and you can see Scrooge dancing with his nephews wife
on the back I made a little pocket with a quote from the book that seems to fit this scene
Thank you so much Tee!!!!

Our small town is going to have it's first Christmas celebration tomorrow night and all of the businesses are going to be open late. There will be open houses with a tree lighting, hayrides, and caroling.I have a friend who has a fabulous shop in town. She makes clothes and embroideries, and just about everything else you can think of with a sewing machine! She is letting me put some of my things in her shop for the Christmas celebration,so I took a few pics of her shop and my set up!
These are some baskets made by Diane Miller. They are so cool! (I'm hoping she will give a class sometime!)
Pat makes Teddy Bears from any special garment you have to save the memory.. isn't that a great idea for an old prom dress or wedding gown?
Look at this beautiful christening gown! The picture doesn't even do it justice. If you are surfing on your computer go to www.OrtizOriginals.com and check out some of the amazing things Pat has made! She does so many things I can't even list them all here!
