My talented daughter

This is an unfinished drawing that my daughter is working on for her teacher. She is in college now and has my camera for a camera class so I don't have any pics to blog about right now. I thought I would show off her talent in the meantime!

this drawing is done and I think she did a great job! People are hard to draw and to make them look like a picture takes talent!

August country market day

This was my table at country market days. I was lucky and got a great spot under a tree! lots of shade and what a beautiful day!

A little bucket I painted and filled with some of my homemade goodies!

these were some necklaces that I made using old watch parts. Very steampunk and they went over well. I sold five out of the six that I brought so I am  making more!

What is better that sitting outside on a nice day listening to music and talking to people about crafts? NOTHING!

I think everyone brought there dogs out for the day

There were all kinds of water games for the kids. it was fun to watch them go through the "car wash"

and my favorite booth that I saw was Red Road Herbs. Rachel had some wonderful fresh herbs and some cute lavender wands. I got myself a lavender wand, some fresh lavender for my soap, and she threw in some fresh lemon verbena. I tell you what my car smelled awesome on the way home! She also gives informative garden tours and herb classes which sound like so much fun!Her website is http://www.redroadherbs.com/ so check it out! That was my day and it was so much fun! The next one is in September so I need to get to work!

Homemade Soap

Well I think I'm ready for the Country Market Day tomorrow! I made new soap labels today and I think they turned out great! I used a label I found on graphicsfairy.blogspot.com . So many great images to pick from!

This was a label for french soap and it had a blank spot so I could write the name in so it worked out great!

I used my homemade paper to wrap them and with the Graphics fairy label I think they are ready for tomorrow!

So if you are in the Norfolk Nebraska area come to the Country Market Days at the 275 rest stop 15 miles east of Norfolk and see all of the cool homemade things!

Austin, Texas vacation

I'm back from a week down in Austin, Texas and I'm about three shades darker than when I left! Boy was it hot! the average temp each day was 104 to 110. I had an awesome time and saw so many new things. I also got some inspiration for some new projects that will be coming soon!

we went to the Lady bird Johnson wildflower gardens and another botanical garden in Austin where I got some great pics!

We saw a sign for Austins largest flee market so I just had to go check that out...was not exactly what I was picturing in my head, but I still found a great old ring and an antique broach

I loved the colorfulness (is that a word?) of Austin. There was something to look at on every street! I think I took about a thousand pictures

the local farmers market was so interesting. I tried goat cheese,  hibiscus mint tea ,and several kinds of salsa

one of my favorite places was this candy shop where I spent a whopping $35.00 on chocolate! ( and totally worth it!)

I also found lots of cool signs and old buildings that I will tweak for later projects!
