A Painting for the Library
This is a painting I've been working on for a long time...I am guilty of procrastination and it was hard to get this project done! It's going to be a donation to raise money for our new library so I hope it does well! We have almost all the funds we need to build a new library and the plan is to start building in June. I can't wait! Here are some close-ups of parts of the painting:

Fabric themed swap
These are the beautiful ATC's I received from Caroline at Glitter Tart Designs. This picture does not do this ATC justice...what you can't see is that the cameo in the middle is dome shaped and padded! It is so cute! The theme at Blissful ATC swap this month was fabric.
look at the cute little champagne bubbles in the corner! I love all the texture in this one.
I am a Wizard of Oz fan and I LOVE this ATC Caroline made! you don't notice the mans face right away until you hold it away from you, and there is the letters OZ in the fabric! Very cool!
Here is a closer up picture of the cool effect Caroline made with a crackled resin of some sort. ( I'm going to have to get her to tell me how she did that!)
These are the ATC's I made for Caroline. I decided to go with a St. Patrick's day theme.I only wish I knew how to sew...
This ATC was for Kim who won the winner take all for the swap this month. She wanted a Farie themed ATC so this is what I came up with :O) I really liked how this turned out..I may have to use this in another project!

Altered notebook and a swap
My sisters birthday is Sunday and I wanted to make something for her. I've already made her a necklace so I decided to make her an altered notebook. I have signed up for two altered notebook swaps with the Blissfull art group that I belong to and I thought this would give me some practice before I made the ones for the group!
I took a basic composition book and used some really cool papers from The Paper Studio and some stickers from Bo Bunny. I have learned that you should put wax paper or something between the cover and the pages when gluing...it was not pretty! I also altered the inside cover on the front and back.
I used two decorative keys on the front and back cover as a way to tie the book shut.
My sister is a physicist so I figured she might use this for projects or research. I tore a page out of a dictionary and framed it on the cover. I think it turned out pretty good for my first altered notebook, and I did learn a few things for the next two I make!
this is an ATC I received from Kimberly at Art Joy Stuff . She is doing a new swap every week with a new person every week for a year! She calls it 52 weeks, 52 artists, 52 trades. I sent her an ATC I made awhile back with a Paris theme and this is what she sent me.
I love the vintage feel of this ATC! If you go to Kimberly's blog you can see pictures of the ATC's she has received so far. There is a lot of talent out there!

Valentine Spoolies!!!!
This is the valentine "spoolie" I made for my partner Lynn. The swap was from the Vintage Dragonfly Altered Matchbox Group . I should have used a darker background because you can't see the white feather behind the seed pearl spray! I just made a very rough light box and I have been experimenting with backgrounds and lighting.
This is the spoolie Lynn made for me!
It's got a backside too! I just love it! It's very vintage and that's totally me!
and she sent some wonderful goodies too! Thanks Lynn!

Count down to Soup R Art
This Sunday is an annual fundraiser for our local art center called Soup R Art
All of the local restaurants in the area have a soup competition and area artists show off their work with 50% of the sales going to the Art Center. I have also been busy getting pics of my jewelry so I can add pieces to my ETSY store again!

Vacuum Tube Steampunk Necklaces
These are some new necklaces I made from vacuum tubes. I think they look very Steampunk and unique! I love the industrial look of them.
I also wanted to share my latest swap at the blissfull ATC swap. The theme this month was "vintage wallpaper". These wer my three...I used different papers that looked like old wallpaper and layered them.
My partner was Penny Plum and she made this set of three for me. She actually used real antique wallpaper from a house she lived in! And she made them all Steampunk just for me! I just LOVE them! Thanks Penny!

Secret Santa
This is the amazing box that my secret Santa sent me filled with goodies! She knew me well and made it Steampunk! I didn't know if I would be able to figure out who my secret Santa was ...until I opened the box on Christmas! I took one look and KNEW it had to be from Wendy Aspinall ! Her style is unmistakable and I was thrilled with what she sent! Take a peek:
Thanks Wendy!!!!! I love it all!
I was not thinking and did not take any pics of the box I made for my secret Santa! I know! Where has my brain been? So as soon as I can "steal" some pics from my partner I will post them! :O)
